May 05, 2016 · If the boiler has an embedded potable hot water coil or a indirect fired hot water with a pinhole leak in the heat exchanger, that too can cause the system pressure to creep up over time. The fact that the old expansion tank registered 2 psi isn't necessarily an indication that the tank has failed.Learn More
e. What is the purpose of the high limit temperature control on a hot water boiler. a) to shut down the burner if the water temperature rises too high. b)to shut down the burner if the water temperature is too low. c) both of the above. d) none of the above. a. A high gas pressure fuel cut-off switch.Learn More
Jan 15, 2010 · You shouldn't have to drain off too much. The pressure is really for the central heating and will fluctuate a bit when the hot water is used too, but will return to a normal pressure very soon after turning off the hot tap. I wouldn't expect the pressure to rise by masses amounts when the hot water is used. My boiler has a cold pressure of 1.1 bar.Learn More
May 27, 2013 · You need to check the pressure when the system is cold. If it is around 2.5/3.0bar then I would suspect the auto filler is faulty and is allowing the full pressure in. Please get this replaced with a proper filling loop as they are a total piece of sh#t. If the pressure is around 1.5bar then I would be looking at the expansion vessel in the boiler.Learn More
Jun 26, 2019 · Pressure: Anywhere above '2' on the pressure gauge when your boiler is cool means your boiler pressure is too high which could result in a leak because the excess pressure needs to be released to avoid long term damage to the boiler itself. The correct pressure is …Learn More
Your boiler pressure should be between 1, to 1.5 bar. The majority of boiler manufacturers recommend a working pressure of 1.3 bar to be the ideal boiler pressure. As a gas engineer, this is a question that I hear often and we get calls from concerned homeowners that fear their boiler pressure may be dangerously high.Learn More
Feb 15, 2011 · Most boilers have a low-pressure cutout switchit must be above that or the boiler won't fire (risks flashing into steam), and they also have a T&P valve that will open if the pressure or temp gets too high. On a boiler, that pressure could be as low as 30-pounds, or it …Learn More
Jun 23, 2012 · If left the gas pressure can alter possibly leading to several problems, from what you said it sounds like high pressure. if the gas pressure is too high the boiler or any other appliance will not be able to burn the gas properly as too much is coming through and that can lead to several problems including the production of carbon monoxide not Learn More
The position set when the boiler was installed is sometimes shown by a red indicator needle. On most digital gauges, you'll see a flashing pressure reading, if there's a low (or high) pressure warning. If your boiler pressure reads less than 1 bar, it's possible that you might have lost water from the system, which needs to be replaced.Learn More
Jul 09, 2019 · Low boiler pressure. Combi and system boilers require a pressure of 1 – 1.5 bar when cold in order to work. If the pressure is lower than this, the boiler won't work and you won't have any hot water or central heating. Low boiler pressure is one of the most common boiler problems and it can have many possible causes.Learn More
CO levels were fine and Oxygen was too high. But gas pressure he said was 8, about twice the level where it should be. It was dropped, but he said that somehow the gas valve was not working correctly, which might be why there is a lot of oxygen. It is getting replaced tomorrow. Flames are much lower now.Learn More
Feb 02, 2010 · derrybongo. Feb 2, 2010. #4. as you said "bleed the pressure off via your radiator air vent back to approx 1.5 bar. keep an eye on the water pressure guage maybe the filling loop v/v is passing. In which case call out the council guy. E.Learn More
Oct 16, 2010 · Hot water boiler pressure always too high A couple of years ago, the relief valve on my boiler kept blowing off and/or dripping constantly. I replaced it, but should have saved my money because the new one did the same thing.Learn More
Boilers are designed and manufactured to handle quick increases in water pressure, and have a pressure relief valve if the pressure gets too high. To determine whether you have a high water pressure, you can check the pressure gauge often found on the front of your gas boiler.Learn More
Sep 26, 2018 · Vaillant Ecotec Pressure Too High – note silver vessel inside the boiler on the right. This is the expansion vessel. I had a job to do today on an older Vaillant Ecotec combi boiler. The system pressure kept going really high when the heating was on. But when the heating cooled down, the pressure went really low and caused an F22 fault.Learn More
May 13, 2020 · When the heating is turned on, your boiler pressure should be between 1.5 and 2 bars. Most boilers will highlight this area in green on the pressure gauge, clearly showing you that the pressure setting is correct. Why is my boiler pressure too high? Once the boiler begins to heat water, the heated water expands and causes the pressure …Learn More
Pressure explosions occur when a pressure part of the boiler such as the shell, furnace, or firetube bursts due to too high a steam pressure or a structural weakening of the metal. This weakening may be caused by: 1. corrosion 2. thermal stress 3. overheating 4. scale and sludge build-up 5. insufficient combustion air a) 1, 3, 4, 5 b) 2, 3, 4 Learn More

If your boiler pressure is too high, let your system cool and recheck the pressure. If the problem persists, contact a Gas Safe engineer to diagnose the problem. If your boiler pressure is too low, you will need to increase the amount of water in the system by opening the filling loop valve, check your home for leaks if the pressure falls again Learn More
Dec 15, 2020 · The upshot is that several possibilities, namely phosphate/polymers, polymers alone, and, rarely, chelating agents, exist for boiler water treatment, but the proper choice depends on a variety of factors that include boiler design and pressure, makeup water treatment sophistication and reliability, and the potential for impurity ingress and Learn More
